Section A vs. Section B: Understanding the "SAQ to ERQ" Jump

Many students lose marks because they treat Section A and Section B the same. They aren't. Here is the definitive breakdown.

The Strategy

Section A: Precision

Use the "Describe, Explain, Apply" model. No intro, no outro — just the facts. Every sentence should directly answer the question.

Section B: Argument

You aren't just summarising — you are debating. You need "The Counter-Argument" to score in the top band. Critical thinking is worth 7 of the 22 marks.
